Kyu Grade Course / Grading March 2013

The WBK would like to congratulate all of our Kyu Grade students who passed their Grade Examinations held earlier today at the Cwrt Herbert Sport Centre, Neath The standard of Karate displayed on the course and grading was very good across all of the grades and all of the hard work done in preparation was much in evidence.

There was also an excellent turnout, the best for several years, of Purple and Brown Belts for the Senior grade course. The Senior Instructors put this group through there paces for over 2 hrs and were very pleased with the effort put in by everyone.

Gratulations to our 4 brave fighters who represented the GGKC in the WKGB Welsh Closed Karate Championship / Cardiff. We came away with 2 Golds Medals in the teams take by the under 12s boys (Tom) and the under 14s girls (Becky / Kate) The 3 Silver Medals take by Becky, Nick and Tom in the individual fights!

The Welsh Bushi Kai Asociation won 22 Medals in Total - 12 Gold / 7 Silver and 3 Bronze, from which the Gilfach Goch Karate Club won 3 Gold and 3 Silver. Please se below for a total medal count:

DAN Grading March 2012


End of March, the Welsh Bushi-Kai conducted its first Dan Grading of 2012. The Grading took place at our Baglan Dojo and the Grade Examiners were Percy Brown 6th Dan, Paul Bridge 5th Dan, Nigel Taylor 5th Dan and Mark McMahon 4th Dan.

After completing an extensive pre-grade training program, all of the candidates were primed and ready to go and gave a great account of themselves. We are pleased to report a 100% pass rate, and offer our congratulations to the following:-

GRADING March 2012


Gratulations to all our students to who attemded their first Grading of 2012 at the Cwrt Herbert Sports Centre in Neath. We had a 100% pass rate.
All of the Grade examiners were impressed with the attitude and determination of each and every student. Congratulations to everyone who graded, you all put on a great show and fully deserve your new grades.
As well as those grading, there was an excellent turnout for the Senior Course conducted by Percy Brown.
Passes by grade were as follows:
Red:- 10, Yellow:- 9, Orange:- 6, Green:- 17, Blue:- 11 and Purple:- 4.
